what is cbd?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a molecular compound found in hemp plants. It’s been scientifically proven to modulate and repair many physiological systems in the human brain and body through the endocannabinoid system.

what is the endocannabinoid system?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids (cannabinoids produced by the body) and the receptors they bind to, cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2). Found in all mammals, the endocannabinoid system is involved in the regulation of a number of physiological and cognitive processes throughout the human body. It is made up of several receptors that react only to cannabinoids, such as CBD and the more well-known compound, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).

cbd vs thc?

The key difference between CBD and THC is that, unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive — so it doesn’t result in that ‘high’ feeling. Cannabidiol is among the most abundant of all the cannabinoids, and dominates the makeup of hemp plants.

hemp-extracted cbd isolate?

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, containing nothing but pure, isolated cannabidiol. In other words, there are no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids. When hemp undergoes the extraction process to remove its cannabinoids, all of the plant’s compounds are extracted (i.e. all cannabinoids and terpenes). This means that extra steps must be taken in order to isolate the CBD and free it of any other compounds. As a result, CBD isolate is relatively difficult to produce – however it guarantees a consistent user experience with every use. With a 0% THC guarantee, CBD isolate will not result in any unwanted psychoactive side effects.

usage + applications?

CBD has a wide range of therapeutic applications, and can be taken as a general health booster or as an alternative remedy for specific health concerns. Such conditions may include: anxiety, depression, insomnia and sleep problems, joint pain and inflammation, muscle tension and strain, migraines and tension headaches, severe and chronic pain, arthritis, nausea, and inflammatory skin ailments such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and dry itchy skin.
